That's my dad's college yearbook photo from Franklin and Marshall (1972).
If it hasn't occured to you why my middle name is Dylan, the answer is
blowin' in my dad's appearance. I've always loved this picture since I
was a child. Its so strange to me that I'm now older than my dad was in
this picture when he had a two year-old child (me!). By the way, for any
of you who know Treat Williams, he went to F&M with my dad and spent
many nights babysitting me with his girlfriend. I was kind of hoping Treat
would become a bigger star so I could go knocking on his door sometime.
He'd have to remember me, right?
My dad went to graduate school in philosophy for a year and then, after
peering into the crystal ball of the academics market, he went to law school.
He truly dislikes being a lawyer I am sad to say. While my dad raised
me to be a free thinker and to do whatever I wanted to, one of his few repeated
requests is that I not become an attorney. No problem, dad. Despite his
dislike of the law, I recently was informed that he is the winningist trial
attorney in South Jersey. I just figured he never talked about his losses.
He never told me this because he is one of the most modest individuals
on the planet, but I'm proud of my dad for being the best at what he does.
Personally, I think he should become a law professor.
